16 outubro 2015

Following a long-lasting tradition, the organiser of the Baja Portalegre 500 introduces once again some novelties regarding its route, in order to offer participants and spectators alike more and different emotions in comparison to last year.
Recovering a format last used in 2009, the first day of the Automóvel Club de Portugal’s event, Friday October 23rd, will comprise two Special Stages. The Prologue, as usual with its 5 km at the Herdade das Coutadas, will be the start of the 29th Baja Portalegre 500 during the morning, while the SS2 and its 85 km will be held during the afternoon. On the whole, a Leg 1 with 90 km for Cars and Bikes.
Meanwhile, Saturday, the 24th, Cars and Bikes will be facing different programs. The 222 two-wheel entries will face a single 350 km Special Stage, while the 92 car teams will endure two stages. The morning will comprise the 150 km of SS3, and the afternoon the remaining 200 km of SS4.
Another change in comparison to last year is the Starts and Arrivals, which this year will be staged in three different municipalities: Portalegre, Crato and Ponte de Sor.
Crato is the starting point of the SS3 Bikes and SS4 Cars, while Ponte de Sor will host the Start of the SS2 and SS3 (Cars and Promo Bikes), as well as the Arrival of SS4 Cars. Portalegre, as usual, will stage the Prologue, as well as the Arrival of SS2 and SS3 (Cars and Bikes).
