The Service Park at NERPOR is hosting almost four hundred participants for the 32nd Baja Portalegre, one of the world's off road capitals since the 80's.
This evening, the crowd will cheer all the participants at the traditional Cerimonial Start at the Jardins do Tarro, while tomorrow the competition kicks off with the Prologue, early in the morning… the first one will start at 07:50.
As usual, the event will be decisive, with the T3 World Cup title for grabs, as well as the National Championships for Cars, Bikes and SSV. Only Quads have already a Champion.
As far as the Cars competition goes, there are five candidates for the win at the Baja: the national drivers and title hopefuls Hélder Oliveira and João Ramos, as well as Stéphane Peterhansel, Nani Roma, which will be debuting in Portalegre, and Ricardo Porém, which will be aiming for the fifth consecutive victory.
On the Bikes, António Maio will be fighting not only for the victory, but also for the Championship, but Mário Patrão will be a difficult opponent. Sebastian Buhler or Luís Oliveira, who won in 2016, are also names to take into consideration.
Finally, the SSV, with its 97 entrants. Among the many names present, those of Miguel Barbosa, who is returning to the off-road, will debut at the Baja with an SSV, Ruben Faria and Jutta Kleinschmidt stand out.
